Dr. Ming-Yen Ng

Dr. Ng is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Diagnostic Radiology, The University of Hong Kong; Division Chief of Cardiac Imaging, HKU– Shenzhen Hospital, China and HKU Cardiac Imaging Massive Open Online Course Director.

Dr Ng undertook a 1 year cardiac imaging fellowship at Toronto General Hospital before coming to Hong Kong. He is a fellow of the American College of Cardiology, Society of Cardiovascular Magnetic Resonance (SCMR), and Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT).

He is the vice-chair of the SCMR’s education committee, member of the SCMR public relations committee, SCCT’s corporate relations committee, SCCT’s education committee and is an Associate Editor of the SCCT’s official journal - Journal of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
He was awarded the HKU Teaching Innovation Award, Gold Award for Life Sciences by the QS Reimagine Education Award and EdX Finalist 2021.

He is actively involved in research with interests in quantitative stress CMR, diabetes, heart failure with preserved ejection fraction and COVID-19. He has >50 peer-reviewed publications in journals such as JACC Cardiovascular Imaging, Circulation Cardiovascular Imaging, European Heart Journal Cardiovascular Imaging and Radiology.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence in Cardiac Imaging to Predict Outcomes and Diagnosis

Artificial intelligence research and implementation is growing rapidly. In this talk, I will focus on developments in cardiovascular imaging and how artificial intelligence is being developed to predict patient outcomes and diagnosis. I will cover it use in areas such as coronary artery disease, cardiomyopathies and heart failure.
